Croatia. Split, Supertar and solin.

Right up until the Hadjuk Split game this was a stunning  trip. The best and worst in one package. The brilliant hospitality we had at second division Solin (the barman and the Waitress buying me Baz and Colin drinks), the horrible atmosphere and ear-splitting/ground-shaking explosions at the HS game  coupled with the worst toilets since the Stadio Olimpico (at least that had some lights but smelt marginally worse). The worst food/restaurant and service within the old Fort/Cathedral to the lovely meals on the outskirts of town (the pizza place after the HS game that Al bush researched was a life-saver as we were literally and metaphorically shell-shocked). NB Please don't eat fish in Split as it's costed by weight and Colin's Cod (not code) cost as much as all the rest of our meals put together .......SERIOUSLY ! ! ! . The football was not great I have to say and the tantrum count was a bit high as well.

It was special because it was the 40th tour and we had T-shirts to commemorate this fact plus hats and embroidered underwear (pls note one of those is not true ha-ha) plus we had to cross on to the other side of the tracks (literally as we were on the far side of the railway station, over a wall, thru a fence) to get to our digs and near the station we found a brilliant bar on the sea-front whose staff were really friendly ,sociable and got a couple of rounds in too. Perfick. Oh and a near mystical boat trip to the magical Supertar Island......Dreamy. One not to forget.
