OK, this is my third attempt to post this so this one will be brutally short.
Such an amazing Season for so many reasons and as per some things only resolved in the last minutes of the last games. Phew.
As we knew Leicester won the Premier League with 2 games to spare and by 10 points over 2nd place Arsenal. Spurs terrible last 10 days left them 3rd and cost them a certain runners up position. Letting Chelsea get back from 2-0 down, losing at home to a rampant Southampton and then being humiliated 5-1 at relegated Newcastle. Plus their dirty tactics ! ! ! Embarrassing.
Saints are 5th but Utd host Bournemouth in a re-arranged match( Security issues caused a post-postponement) and if they win will jump above them.
Serie A. Juve romped home a few weeks back and my "local" side when i'm in Italy went down with a whimper. My other regional teams Roma 3rd Lazio 7th.
Bundesliga. Bayern won in an age ago, well it seemed like it. By 10 points from Dortmund. Our faves Frankfurt play Bremen in the last game for either of them to avoid being in the 3rd bottom play-off spot. Bremen won 1-0 so Frankfurt have to fight on.
Ligue Un. Ok, PSG won the Championship in "October" and by 31 points. Ridiculous...
La Liga. It was all down to the last game here thank goodness though an astonishing dip in form by Barca cost them the chance of wrapping things up early. Still it was down to the final Saturday away matches and both Barca and Real won so it was Barcs by one point.
Eredivisie. It was between Ajax and Eindhoven with goal difference in Ajax's favour but a catastrophic away draw at 2nd bottom Graafschap proved to be Ajax's undoing and Eindhoven are Champions. Phew.
Utd 1-0 up at half time. Near neighbour, Bournemouth's no. 6 Drew Surman will have played every minute of every game this season if he's not injured/subbed. He is also the player who has run the most miles this season, over 280 by now I imagine. Saint's 6th then, as it stands, but still in Europa League. Great achievement from the Superb Ronald Koeman's side after losing huge players for 2nd season in a row.
Will try to up-load Tony's reports from Germany Wilkie Tour ASAP.
See you next season Guys.
