Chelsea came back strongly after their opening day lapse by beating Spurs at their new PL home, Wembley, with a brace from left back Alonso.
Newly promoted Newcastle and Brighton join Palace, West Ham & Boscombe at the bottom of the table with no points from two games played.
Wantaways Costa, Van Dijk, Coutinho & Sanchez remain off stage, but Gylfi Sigurdsson eventually got his dream move joining Everton from Swansea for a reported £45 million.
Cardiff and Ipswich have both won their opening four games in the Championship, closely followed by Forest & Wolves. The latter two knocking out PL teams away from home in the EFL Cup, Forest beating Newcastle and a second string Wolves side at a thoroughly inept Southampton (don't get me started!).
Wilkie Tours local favourites, Eastleigh maintained a steady start to their National League campaign with a 2-0 win over fancied Tranmere Rovers at The Silverlake Stadium. Eastleigh had already beaten table toppers, Sutton United at their rapidly expanding home stadium.
In Spain, both Real and Barcelona win their opening games while newly promoted Girona (first time in La Liga) held Atheletico Madrid at home 2-2; 'Leti' are away again for the second round of games as their new 68,000 capacity Wanda Metropolitano stadium will not be ready to host games until next month.
Wilkie Tours next trip is to Gdansk, Poland where games at Lechnia Gdansk and Arka Gydnia are on the plan, however both clubs have made a slow start in the Ekstraklasa league winning only two games between them after round 6! Fingers crossed that they both get their acts together for our visit.
